here are my ‘morning’ sketches from this week. I was trying to NOT be symmetrical & I think I achieved that . It’s making me a little uncomfortable – but that’s the entire point – to stretch your ideas. I find them silly – and whimsical. I am always going for whimsical and I am pretty sure no one ever was chastised for silly – they are definitely ‘raw’ at best.
Usually i will not share my sketches because they stink. But as part of the goals that I have set for myself, artistically, over the next few months I would like to try to discover some grounds for collections. Those of you who currently license work know why this is vital- I am having a problem sticking to one idea long enough to complete the collection. ADD. This time, I am taking a different course, after the sketches, they are getting scanned an given potential placement in a series, with a name. I figure that like the children or the cat we adopted, once they have a name, we can’t give ’em up – so they will need tending too and that means COMPLETION !
I have hundreds if not thousands of ideas like this. fish, birds, raccoons, lighthouses, starfish, sea shells – you name it – it will be interesting to see if this tactic/plan works.
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend !
The more whimsy the better in my eyes!! I love these birds so much..so adorable and full of personality!! Such a joy to visit! I love whimsy!
