Sunday Fun-Days

beablankredflower

I’ve been teaching myself to digitize my artwork. This is a combination of my hand lettering and an abstract Watercolor flower.  I decided that it might be fun to create a new way to share artwork…. so….

Introducing a new art game – kinda like Cards Against Humanity except you pick the answers from your life instead of a pile of cards (and you decide whether or not it’s humane…)

To play, simply put your choice of fill in the blanks in the comment section or print the piece, add your words and share (#whimsyvillefun) or post on Whimsyville’s Facebook  Page under today’s post (Jan. 24, 2016) . Best original answer wins a ‘digital’ version to print out …. tell me what you are thinking, good or bad….

Have a great week – Love, Ann

Silly Flowers

So today’s little work is just silly flowers. I read this interesting book called “Paint Lab” last night. I was expecting fun similiar to the “Drawing Lab” book, but instead found some art history and serious ‘work’ involved. It is a good book – just too serious pour moi.

You know me, happy art for happy people.

But I was inspired by a lesson, so to remove the serious I drew these little guys – each have a different petal.  They are on drawn with black ink on a very busy background. In fact, it is so busy that you can barely see the works. Original “sketch” attached so you get the idea….

Have an art filled day !

Whimsyville meets Gelli

It goes without saying that this Gelli Printing thing is addictive – in fact, if you want, you can get a badge for your blog that says you are an addict. (Um, I will not be getting the badge because that would imply that I have an ‘art issue’ and perhaps could lead to a 12 step program in which I would no longer purchase art toys… so, no.)

Anywho – in these prints I see Whimsyville Villages – so without further ado (except that they will get more layers and be reposted in the future) here are three experiments…

Without water, I would have no art…

This little crabby was created with the amazing Derwent light wash water solvable graphite pencil – and the sunset is Caran d arche crayon. I love art supplies and I love the ocean- they mix pretty well don’t you think?

Have a very artful day .

well, it looks like christmas, it smells like christmas, so,

what’s up with the fish….? These guys have nothing to do with Christmas except perhaps to put a smile on your face. As a sketch, they later became ‘pins’ using Studio Cloth from USArtQest. Most of today was spent painting – but these were a fun ‘relief’ from the seriousness of a ‘real’ canvas. – have a very artful today. Tomorrow, the annual Merry Christmas from North Carolina piece…
